March - Rail Tech Conference

Dear colleagues and friends-

Clary Coutu, President, New England Railroad Club

Thank you for your patronage and support of the 4th Annual Rail Tech Engineering and Transit Night Conference.

This year, the New England Railroad Club planned a great program with notable keynote speakers Congressman Seth Moulton and Clement Michel President and CEO Keolis North America, in addition to professional seminars led by industry leaders, the participation of suppliers and vendors, amongst other. With over 300 registered participants, vendors and sponsors, this year the Rail Tech promised to be a very successful event.

As you are aware, many states across the Northeast including the State of Massachusetts have declared an Emergency Status to proactively manage the protocols required to control the spread of the Coronavirus (“COVID19”). Our industry moves the economy, and as leaders in the transportation of goods and passengers, we need to set the example to reduce the risk to the health and safety of our employees and stakeholders. As COVID19 evolves, it is quite a monumental effort for many of us who work in the railroad industry to ensure continuity of service in a safe and reliable manner. As such, given the nature of COVID19 and the precautionary steps taken by State authorities, on behalf of the NERRC Executive Board, I announce the cancellation of the March 19, 2020, Rail Tech Conference in an effort to reduce the risk to our members, speakers, sponsors, suppliers and all other stakeholders during the promulgated COVID19 emergency. The cancellation of the event is an unfortunate situation; however, safety is always a leading priority for all of us.

Notwithstanding the circumstances, we understand the inconvenience the cancellation will have for many of you who have invested time, monies and travel coordination, and we apologize in advance for your troubles. For all vendors, sponsors and registrants who have purchased tickets, tables and sponsorships, you will have three options: request reimbursement; request a credit for a future event; or, donate to the Scholarship Fund. We will issue a notice to you that will outline the process to follow in the days ahead. Thank you for your understanding.

We continue our commitment to bring you events that advance our industry objectives. I look forward to seeing you at our next event the Annual Golf Scholarship Classic scheduled for May 21, 2020 at the Ferncroft Country Club in Middleton, MA.

Sincerely,
Clary Coutu
President
New England Railroad Club
